What Makes Sarnafil Roofing Systems Different from Standard Flat Roofing Solutions
Sarnafil represents a significant step up from conventional flat roofing materials. Unlike basic felt or cheaper membranes, Sarnafil products are specifically designed for demanding roofing purposes rather than being adapted from multi-purpose materials. The membrane itself is engineered with dimensional stability and reinforcement, meaning it won't shrink, crack or deform when exposed to structural movement or temperature fluctuations.
The installation process sets Sarnafil apart too. We use hot-air welding to create seams that are often stronger than the membrane itself, giving you permanent watertight protection without open flames or adhesives. This welding technique produces bonds that last for the full life expectancy of the roof, which for PVC options carries a British Board of Agrément life expectancy of over 40 years.
Sarnafil membranes are manufactured to ISO 9001 standards and are CE marked to BS EN 13956:2005. The material's flexibility allows us to detail around complex roof penetrations like skylights, upstands, plant equipment and parapet walls with precision. This flexibility also means Sarnafil systems are suitable for flat, pitched or green roofs, working equally well on new builds and refurbishments.
